BROOKHAVEN — Police Officers with Brookhaven Police Department are investigating a deadly shooting in Brookhaven Saturday night. KDMC was initially dispatched to the scene.

A call of shots fired came in around 8:05 pm Saturday at the apartments at 209 Pennington Street. The incident was close to where Pennington intersects with Furr Avenue.

Lincoln County Coroner Blake Wallace confirmed the shooting was fatal following an altercation.

William Young, 23, was shot and killed by an unknown subject. Wallace said the family had been notified.
