Severe storms could return this afternoon

BROOKHAVEN — National Weather Service warns of severe weather for Lincoln County and southwest Mississippi Tuesday afternoon. Storms could bring wind and hail.
NWS warns the storms could move through the area between 3 p.m. and 10pm. Wind damage and hail up to a quarter in size is forecast with these storms. The forecasted potential of wind gusts is as high as 60 to 70 mph for Lincoln County and southwest Mississippi. Flooding is also a threat according to the NWS.
Forecasts warn two to three inches of rain could fall in a short amount of time. This could cause localized flash flooding in low lying areas and urban areas.
There is a 60 percent chance of rain today.
A chance of rain is in the forecast on Wednesday and Thursday with 40 percent and 20 percent chances of rain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
