EAST LINCOLN — A locally owned and operated medical marijuana grower won a key victory in court according to a press release Monday. SADUJA LLC, located in East Lincoln, was one of two Mississippi Independent Cannabis Association members to be awarded damages following the administrative hold on Rapid Analytics tested products.
SADUJA and FerrCann LLC were represented by Cory Ferreaz of Ferreaz and Associates PLLC in the case. The judgment awarded $6.3 million in damages following a time when Rapid Analytics, a testing facility, was placed into administrative hold in December. As a result of the hold, some medical marijuana products were not able to move. The affected companies like SADUJA, managed by Lincoln County resident Jason McDonald, faced setbacks during the administrative hold.
“I am pleased that SADUJA was awarded damages against Rapid Analytics,” McDonald said. “The hold has been hard on so many in the industry and we are pleased that Rapid is being held responsible for their part in carrying most of us to the brink of disaster with their actions. Today, justice was served.”
Mississippi Independent Cannabis Association encourages locally owned cannabis businesses affected by the Rapid Analytics hold to join the association. Businesses are encouraged to explore avenues with the association for “redress and assistance in navigating the complexities of the situation.”
