Dates planned for “Keep Lincoln County Beautiful,” campaign

BROOKHAVEN — Residents of Lincoln County will have five dates in late spring to take trash by the transfer station in Brookhaven. Lincoln County Administrator Daniel Calcote passed out a flier at Monday’s board of supervisors meeting for the “Keep Lincoln County Beautiful,” Campaign.
In previous years, the campaign was held in each district with a drop off location designated. Supervisors moved the trash collection day to a centralized location during COVID and have stuck with the model as they can have better control of the situation and what is being disposed of.
Lincoln County’s 2024 Spring Cleanup will be at the City of Brookhaven’s Transfer Station located at 463 County Farm Lane NE across five Saturdays in late spring. Spring cleanup will be on April 13, April 20, April 27, May 4 and May 11 from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
No scavenging will be allowed at the dump and people are directed to stay in their vehicles. Each load will be inspected by the county to ensure there are no items which are unable to be disposed of at the dump. Residents are asked to separate items by type as best they can and the event is for Lincoln County residents only.
