L. Melissa Reed, formerly of Brookhaven, MS, was buried on March 13 in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Melissa was born March 13, 1955, in Brookhaven, MS, to Lonnie Patterson Reed Sr. and Myrtle Golmon Reed.

She was an avid traveler and had been to and lived in many states throughout her life, spending several years in England. She worked for the Fire Department in Fridley, MN, for several years and cherished her time there.

Preceding her in death were her parents; aunts, Lura and Ara Golman, Ima Hoggatt, Aileen Hoggatt, and Ruby Ainsworth; uncles, Howell Golmon, Hollis Golmon, JC Golmon, and Leon Golmon.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Robert) Broomfield and Abby Perkins; 5 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
