The Lincoln County School District has made two major announcements — a new principal at Bogue Chitto, and a new location for all district offices.
Superintendent Dr. David Martin made the announcements Thursday.
Coach and former assistant principal Gareth Sartin has been named the new principal of Bogue Chitto Attendance Center, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year.
“Mr. Sartin brings a longstanding love for the Bogue Chitto community,” Martin said. “His abilities and heart for children make him the perfect candidate to continue the tradition of success that Bogue Chitto Attendance Center is known for.”
Sartin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in math education from Mississippi State University, and a Master of Educational Leadership degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He previously served BCAC in several capacities, including coach, teacher, assistant principal, and interim principal.
“I am grateful for the upcoming opportunity to serve in this new role at Bogue Chitto, where I have made my home the last 22 years as a teacher, football and baseball coach, and administrator,” Sartin said.
The district also announced it has relocated its offices from East Monticello Street to 702 Saints Trail NW, in Linbrook Business Park. All offices are now under one roof — superintendent, business, child nutrition, CTE, 16th section, federal programs, special services, technology and transportation.
