Polymer Science I and Physics students visited a premiere governmentally-funded research facility today, LIGO, in Livingston, LA. LIGO is a gravitational wave observatory manned by MIT and CalTech scientists, to name a few, one of 2 of its kind in the US. Students learned how different STEM fields collaborate toward a common goal. They also tackled several engineering challenges and experienced science in action through LIGO’s hands-on exhibit hall.
