BROOKHAVEN — Power has been restored a head of a chilly night. National Weather Service in Jackson forecasts temperatures drop to a low of 10 degrees tonight.
Entergy, Southwest Electric and Magnolia Electric all report zero customers without power at this time.
A reminder to crank your vehicle and let it run for a little bit to charge your battery if it has problems starting in the cold. Be sure to keep your pipes on drip and make sure plants are protected. Bring pets inside and make sure they have water and food.
Do not drive anywhere if you do not have to. Brookhaven Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency reminds people to take precautions if they do especially as ice melt refreezes tonight.
“We are seeing some thawing of roadways but there are still many icy spots and we will experience refreezing of the roadways tonight,” Lincoln County EMA states. “Please stay off the roadways if at all possible temperatures are forecast to rise above freezing tomorrow mid morning.”
