BROOKHAVEN — Ole Brook senior Bryce Smith has earned another honor this year.

Readers may remember Smith from winning the KDMC Comeback Player award earlier this fall. Smith suffered a brutal knee injury in the 2022 football season and wasn’t sure if he was going to play again. Remarkably, he managed to make a comeback and is leading the Panthers as a kicker and tight end this season.

Smith was selected as a state finalist for the Heisman Scholarship and is one of two state winners for Mississippi. He has dreams of going to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis.
