BROOKHAVEN — Custom soda shop Sipps was originally set to open on Labor Day Weekend but a tragic motorcycle crash claimed the life of one of the owners. Sipps announced they plan to officially open this Friday and will feature a special drink to honor the life of co-owner Michael Falvey.

Mississippi Department of Health reported the soda shop passed its final inspection last week earning an A clearing the final hurdle for them to open. Sipps had participated in a Halloween special and featuring free drinks for the Christmas Open House.

Stop by Sipps at 333 West Cherokee Street in Brookhaven to get your tasty treat from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. Drinks range in size from 44 ounces to 16 ounces. Fountain drinks include Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Sprite Zero, Dr. Pepper, Dr. Pepper Zero and Diet Dr. Pepper, Barq’s Root beer, Fanta Orange, Blue Powerade, Mello Yello, Fresca, Sweet Tea and Unsweeted Tea with a variety of flavored shots, creams and fruits to add.

Falvey will be honored with a special drink combination called the Sasquatch. It is made with Dr Pepper with blue raspberry, huckleberry and cream.

“Michael had an odd but hilarious obsession with Sasquatch. We thought it would only be fitting for his tribute drink to go hand in hand with his passion for the mysterious creature of the woods,” Sipps wrote in an announcement.
