The Ole Brook Wind Symphony began fall practice for its 23rd season on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
The band practices at Alexander Middle School’s band hall near the corner of Grenn and Turner Streets in Brookhaven on most Tuesdays at 7 p.m.
The symphony welcomes woodwind, brass and percussion players from high school level and higher. Those interested are invited to show up on Tuesday nights, or contact one of the directors, Leroy Smith at 601-730-3993 or Stanley Stewart at 601-643-5693. Most members are from Southwest Mississippi.
“You can just show up with an instrument and join us at practice,” said long-time symphony member Steve Edge, “and don’t worry if you are out of practice. We’d love to have you.”
