Bob’s on the Boulevard officially opens

BROOKHAVEN — A Brookhaven tradition has expanded to a second location this week. Bob’s Sandwich Shop will now have two locations in town.
The business update accompanies three local restaurants who passed their health inspections Thursday. Two restaurants were issued new licenses for new locations this month by the Mississippi Department of Health. One new restaurant was issued a license but has yet to announce an opening date.
Bob’s on The Boulevard opened Monday with a menu is similar to the downtown Sandwich Shop location. It should offer a more convenient lunch location on the busy Brookway Boulevard. Chef Eric Smith shared how the new location was the start of a new chapter in his life in The Dart this past June.
K&B Seafood is officially open at its new location at 526 US51 South after receiving a new license for the location. The first day for the new location was August 11. Plans for the restaurant include an expanded menu with po’boys once they get settled in. People can sit down in the restaurant and enjoy boiled shellfish.
It is in a food truck located at 101 US51 N. Hours for the new restaurant are from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Chickencoop, located at 726 South First Street, earned an A rating from the Mississippi Department of Health for the third time since 2022.
The Old Koke Plant, located at 620 US 51 South, earned an A for the third time since 2022. While The Old Koke Plant is a gas station, it is also a popular place for its lunch plate specials.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe, located at 981 Brookway Boulevard, earned an A for the third time since 2022. Franchise owner Lance Newman was featured in The Dart in April. Tropical Smoothie is just one of several of his business ventures in Brookhaven.
Huey Magoos is hiring for the location in Brookhaven. The chicken tender restaurant has yet to announce a date for opening.
