A Brookhaven woman reported missing Monday morning has been found safe, according to family members.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation had issued a Silver Alert for 80-year-old Irma Dixon Bryant of Brookhaven, Lincoln County.
She was described as a black female, five feet nine inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Bryant had been last seen Sunday, Aug. 13, around 9:10 p.m. in the 200 block of Ingram Street in Brookhaven, walking north of Ingram Street, wearing a pink t-shirt and grey tights.
Family members told Brookhaven police Bryant had been seen entering the woods in the Field Lark Lane area. At that point, other agencies were requested to assist with both aerial and ground searches.
“At approximately 8:40 a.m. this morning, Ms. Bryant was located by a resident walking near her yard on Field Lark Lane and was checked by medical personnel, and reunited with her family,” said Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Chris Reid. “We would like to thank all the agencies involved, as well as the volunteers who assisted — Brookhaven Police Department; Brookhaven Fire Department; Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office; Mississippi Emergency Management Agency; Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks; Rayburn Correctional Facility Dog Team (Louisiana); and Heritage Family Church.”
