BROOKHAVEN — IAmShe Boutique owner Keiquanae Smith was surrounded by friends and community members as she cut a red ribbon in front of her business. Smith said she has been busy since her grand opening on July 22.
Her friends Sarah Barnes and Destiny Buie are more like sisters and are supporting her dream. They were right beside her during the celebrations.
IAmShe Boutique is located at 714 Halbert Heights Road to the left of Regions Bank. Smith said her shop started as online only and she decided to take a step of faith this year to open a brick and mortar shop.
A Union Church native, Smith said she always loved Brookhaven and wanted to open a business in Brookhaven.
“I love Brookhaven and I just knew I was coming here someday. I’m happy to be here,” Smith said. “Thank you for being here. If you ever need anything I’m one call away. I love to do this.”
IAmShe Boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Jillian Richerri, with Visit Brookhaven, pointed out the later hours as a positive.
Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce Garrick Combs spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“Thank you for being here. Thank you for the investment in our town,” Combs said. “We look to continue to support you. It is a beautiful store.”
