Brookhaven recognizes tech student winners, Child Nutrition retirees

Brookhaven Technical Center Polymer Science students Savannah M. and Michael A. finished first and third, respectively, in the statewide polymer science high school competition. Nearly 60 first-year students across the state took an online exam on the University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Polymer Science & Engineering content for the competition.
Child Nutrition retirees
The Brookhaven School District recognizes and thanks three Child Nutrition Department workers who have been with the district approximately three decades, and have either just retired or will retire soon.
Mary Rowe has worked with BSD Child Nutrition for 30 years, starting in the kitchen and most recently working as the Free/Reduced Application Specialist. Rowe is retiring at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
Tonya Thomas-McSweyn has been the Child Nutrition Director at BSD for the past 28 years. She has just retired.
Frances Kelly will retire at the end of this school year after 28 years in cafeteria work.
