Three Lawrence County School District campuses are on lockdown.

At noon Tuesday, the Lawrence County School District released the following statement:

“Lawrence County High School, Rod Paige Middle School and Monticello Elementary School are currently on lockdown as a precautionary measure. All students and staff are safe at this time. We will continue to release updates as available.”

Sheriff Ryan Everett released the following statement:

“Lawrence County High School is on lockdown due to a threat. Law enforcement is on scene and is assessing and investigating the threat at this time. There has been NO ACTIVITY in regards to the threat at this time, and everyone is safe.”
