William Marshall “Dub” Redd Jr., 81 of Bogue Chitto, MS passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, Mississippi. He was born Saturday, August 2, 1941 in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi to William Marshall Redd Sr. and Annie Elizabeth Price Redd.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson Grove Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Johnson Grove Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Johnson Grove Cemetery in Bogue Chitto, MS. Brother Douglas Kimble and Brother Ben Huey will officiate. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dub was a member and elder at Johnson Grove Church of Christ. He was a lifelong carpenter and owned and operated Redd Construction Company. He enjoyed working in his garden and in his shop. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, and “Paw Paw.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, R. J. Redd; two sisters, Pauline Redd King and Bobbie Redd Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Lewis Redd of Bogue Chitto, MS; sons, Jonathan Daniel Redd (Helen) of Brookhaven, MS, Samuel Byron Redd (Renea) of Bogue Chitto, MS and William Andrew Redd (Camille) of Brookhaven, MS; daughters, Melissa Redd Taylor (David) of Grenada, MS and Tanya Redd Barber (Billy) of Taylorsville, MS; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Opal Redd Blaise (Robert Earl) and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Johnson Grove Youth Group.
