MCCOMB — Brian Ferguson, State Parks Bureau Chief, provided an update on capital improvement projects to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks Commission Thursday. Ferguson said nine cabins at Natchez State Park and Percy Quin State Park, located in Pike County, will receive renovations.
He added Percy Quin would undergo renovations to 55 campsites this summer. During the 250 to 365 days needed to complete renovations, campsites would be closed to visitors.
Ferguson said the department will make upgrades to waste, water and electrical infrastructure at the park during the closure. The 55 campsites will close on July 5 so as to not disrupt any camping activity for July 4.
Camping will not be entirely closed at the park. Percy Quin offers 100 RV sites and 22 primitive camping sites.
