Severe storms expected late Tuesday, early Wednesday

BROOKHAVEN — Rain and storms refuse to go away as more severe weather has been forecast for the area. Southwest Mississippi is at a marginal risk for more severe weather late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
NWS Jackson reports the storms could bring damaging wind gusts, hail up to a quarter in size and possible tornadoes. Wind will blow around 20 mph late Tuesday night with gusts hitting 30 mph.
Wednesday will have the same wind speeds and a 60 percent chance of rain with rainfall amounts between a tenth of an inch to a quarter of an inch. April showers are here with Thursday through Saturday having at least a 50 percent chance of precipitation.
Tuesday’s high is 86 and the low will be 70. Thunderstorms are likely on Wednesday and into Wednesday night.
