At approximately 7:21 p.m., MHP responded to a crash on Hwy. 27 in Lawrence County. A 2015 Subaru Forester — driven by Ladonna Pardu, 59, of Farmerville, Louisiana — was traveling north on the highway when it left the roadway and collided with a ditch.

Pardu received severe injuries from the crash and was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, according to Troop M Cpl. Craig James.

One hour later, at 8:20 p.m., troopers responded to another single-vehicle crash. Mary Wiggins, 59, of Brookhaven, was traveling west on Hwy. 84 in Lincoln County in a 2016 Toyota Corolla. The car left the roadway and collided with a tree near Echo Lane, Cpl. James said.

Wiggins was not injured, but her passenger — 89-year-old Hubert Cook, also of Brookhaven — received minor injuries. Cook was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center for treatment.

Each of these crashes remains under investigation by MHP.
