Linemen crews restoring power in area

BROOKHAVEN — Severe storms cut power to 3,500 customers in Lincoln, Copiah and Franklin Counties this morning but linemen crews have worked quickly to restore connections. Southwest Electric had about 1,850 customers without power in Lincoln County and managed to cut it down to 318 without power by noon.
1,548 people are without power in the area. Southwest has 464 customers in Franklin and 136 customers in Copiah Counties without power. Entergy has 217 customers in Copiah and four customers in Franklin Counties without power. Magnolia Electric Customers has 357 customers in Lincoln and 52 in Franklin Counties without power.
Remember to stay weather aware as the threat of Severe Storms in the area is still possible until 2p.m. according to the National Weather Service in Jackson.
