Area counties placed under Tornado Watch

JACKSON — National Weather Service Office in Jackson issued a tornado watch from now until 7:02 p.m. tonight. The watch includes Adams, Franklin, Copiah, Lincoln, Lawrence, Amite and Pike counties.
Storms are forecasted to hit the region this afternoon and could produce golf ball sized hail, wind gusts up to 70mph and tornadoes. Flash Flooding is also a limited concern. NWS Jackson asks the public to stay weather aware and to turn around and not drown when encountering flooded roadways.
Co-Lin announces campus safety measures
All Co-Lin campuses will dismiss employees and students at 1:00 p.m. today, November 29, due to incoming severe weather.
All residence halls remain open. Lunch will be served at regular times and residence hall students may pick up their evening meal to go from 3-4 p.m. at the cafeteria. Please stay weather aware.
