Column: We have a lot to be thankful for

Every sunrise is a blessing and each starry night is a spectacle. Life is a blessing and we have a lot to be thankful for. Warm coffee on a cold morning, song birds singing in the spring and the sweet relief of rain after a dry spell.
Sure there are hardships in our day to day life. Flat tires, unwanted bills, football teams that try to lose and days where you can’t catch a break in the woods. Do not let yourself get caught up in the negatives but find the positive.
I’m thankful for the man from church who stopped to help me change a tire on a scorching June day, thankful for the truck note that allows me to get to work, thankful for an always entertaining Mississippi State football team and grateful for the hunts where I come home thinking of all the wildlife I did get to see instead of the ones I didn’t harvest.
Grateful for a wife who has not gotten rid of me yet and the life we are starting to build. We are thankful for our tiny house, it ain’t much but it has walls, windows, a front door, a roof and a porch. Blessed for the two cats Bruno and Penny who warm our home and spark laughter with their crazy shenanigans.
Humbled to serve such an incredible community. Honored to tell your stories and welcomed by your arms. Thank you readers and those who have spoken to me for stories. Your support means a lot and I’m eternally grateful.
My coworkers have been incredible and bring a smile to my face. Thank you Brett and Stacy for your patience with this young man.
Thank you God for your wonderful creation. Frosty fall mornings with geese flying in the skies or a muggy April day with a gobbler gobblin’ away. It is all incredible to enjoy and I do my best to not take things for granted.
Thank you to my family, family-in-laws and church family for blessing us in this new season of life. I have a lot to be thankful for, we all do.
