Bank of Franklin is celebrating its 110 Year Anniversary as a banking institution. Founded in 1912, Bank of Franklin began as a 30 x 50 brick structure built on Main Street in Meadville. On Oct. 13, 1912, the Bank of Franklin opened for business, and it has since grown to additional branch locations in Brookhaven and McComb.
In keeping with their growth, Bank of Franklin is remodeling the façade of their Meadville branch. The renderings and exterior renovation are inspired by the original Bank of Franklin architecture.
“We are excited to launch this new phase with Bank of Franklin that will include state-of-the-art exterior building design while reflecting the antiquity of Bank of Franklin’s rich history. We’ve been honored to be a part of the Meadville community for 110 years and look forward to serving the financial needs of our community in the future,” said Brad Jones, President and CEO.
Bank of Franklin was recently recognized for earning top-tier national performance rankings in the banking industry. Bank of Franklin was nationally ranked No. 4 out of 690 C-corp banking institutions, which have total assets of $100 million to $249 million. This recognition was provided by CB Resource Inc. In addition, Bank of Franklin nationally ranked No. 2 out of 184 community develop financial institutions as recognized by CDBA, the national trade association of the community development banking sector.
“We have valued our connection with Bank of Franklin for generations. They know and understand our financial needs,” said customer Barry Tyson. “At Bank of Franklin, their concern for you as a person and friendliness has always been present — it’s like talking to your neighbor!”
