Severe weather possible this afternoon in Lincoln County

Lincoln County has a marginal risk of severe weather this afternoon.

Severe thunderstorms are possible from noon to about 5 p.m., moving north of the area until about 11 p.m.

South of I-20, isolated severe storms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and hail up to the size of quarters, according to the National Weather Service in Jackson. A tornado also cannot be ruled out.

More severe weather is expected north of the I-20 corridor, with damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail up the size of golf balls, and possible tornadoes.
