Entergy has presented a $3,000 grant to Families United Training Center for a STEM project. STEM projects are focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Through Entergy’s Micro Grant Program, requests are accepted in several areas, including arts culture, community improvement and economic development.
“Once I have received the application to review, then I determine the amount my budget allows to award the recipient,” Southern Region Customer Service Manager Dustin Shack said. “If I don’t know the applicant, I’ll reach out and get to know more about the 501(c) (3) foundation.”
Shack is able to approve up to $1,500 for a grant request. When the corporate office learned what Families United was doing in Brookhaven to help train adults and children in STEM projects, that office approved another $1,500 for the grant.
“As an Entergy employee, I’m very thankful to work for a company that stands behind the people within our community,” Shack said.
