A convenience store on Natchez Drive has been rezoned after a City Board vote.
The owner of City Mart requested permits in order to expand his business building westward. In order to do so, the property would have to be rezoned.
City Mart, located at 628 Natchez Drive at the intersection with Zetus Road, was originally zoned incorrectly as part of a residential area when the area became part of the city in 2008.
After review, the Planning Commission approved his request unanimously, and recommended to the Board of Aldermen to approve the rezoning of the property to C1 based on incorrect zoning previously.
The board voted 3-0 to approve the rezoning — Jeff Henning, Fletcher Grice and Don Underwood voted in support. The four other aldermen — James Magee Jr., Shannon Moore, Charles Caston Sr. and Andre’ Spiller — abstained from voting.
