Fishing Reports: Lake Lincoln State Park

Bass 

Bass bite is great, anglers are catching consistently using spinnerbaits and buzzbaits near schooling shad or topwater lures near vegetation edges.

Crappie

Crappie bite best on chartreuse jigs when trolling near the dam in early morning.

Bream 

Bream bite is picking up, focus your fishing effort near bedding sites with red worms fished on the bottom.

Catfish

Catfish bite is best near the campground pier when fishing on bottom using liver or night crawlers. They also tend to hang on channel ledges.

Calling Panther Lake

Bass

Fish for largemouth bass in water depths of 4 – 8 feet deep. Try and target woody structure with Texas rigged soft plastic lures. Some anglers have been having some success using chartreuse or blue colored swimbaits.

Crappie

Crappie are in water depths of 8 – 20 feet deep. Live golden shiners work well when fishing for crappie on Calling Panther. If you’re fishing with artificial lures try using dark colored jigs.

Bream

Try fishing for bream around structure. These fish can be caught using small worms and crickets.

Catfish

Target catfish in deep water. Some anglers fish at the end of the wooden piers. Good bait to use for catching catfish are nightcrawlers or liver.

Percy Quinn State Park

Bass

Largemouth bass are biting well along vegetation edges on the north side of the lake, focus fishing effort in these areas with chatterbaits to pull in the large fish hiding under the vegetation. They are also chasing schooling shad in the deeper waters near the center of the lake, target these fish using spinnerbaits to attract their attention.

Crappie

Crappie are biting well along the dam in deeper water, anglers using jigs with chartreuse or blue skirts typically land them. They also bite steadily in the willows near the edge of the skiing area.

Bream

Bream bite is fair with crickets and redworms fished on bottom. Bedding activity is increasing and peaks near the full moon every month, focus fishing effort in these areas.

Catfish

Catfish bite is strong near the spillway using chicken livers or shrimp.
