A Spring Farmers Market will be Good Friday, April 15, at Railroad Park in downtown Brookhaven.
The pop-up market is not the official start of the Brookhaven Farmers Market season.
“Our local farmers and homesteaders wanted to hold a plant sale to help Brookhaven fill their gardens,” said market manager Jollean Smith.
The 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. market will have products from 14 vendors, Smith said, including some new vendors and long-time favorites.
Products available at the spring market will include: grass-fed beef; baked breads; seasoned croutons; sweet baked goods including cinnamon buns; homemade jams, jellies and pickles; local honey; goat milk soap; fruit trees — fig, persimmon, crabapple, paw-paw, guava; vegetable garden plant starts — tomato, okra, cucumber, squash; homemade marshmallows; and some rare and unusual plants.
The regular Farmers Market season will begin sometime in early June.
“Dates and times will be shared as soon as farmers confirm when produce will be ready for harvest,” Smith said. “To keep up with news on the Farmers Market, please follow Brookhaven Farmers Market on Facebook or Instagram.”
