Potentially hazardous weather moving into Lincoln County area

A slight threat of severe thunderstorms exists for Lincoln, Franklin, Jefferson and Copiah counties this afternoon through tonight. Some thunderstorms could produce damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail up to half dollar size, according to the National Weather Service in Jackson.
Tornados are possible. Sustained winds up to 25 mph and wind gusts up to 40 mph may result in weak trees and limbs to break and fall. Driving may be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
A strong storm system is expected to move through the area again Wednesday afternoon and night. This system may bring damaging winds up to 70 mph and large hail up to olf ball size.
Tornados and flash flooding are possible. Gusty gradient winds — sustained up to 25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph — will persist through Wednesday evening.
