BHS makes temporary switch to hybrid schedule

Brookhaven High School students have switched to a hybrid schedule due to an increase in quarantine numbers.
On Friday, the Brookhaven School District announced that BHS would be switching to a hybrid schedule beginning Feb. 8 and ending Feb. 19. This change is due to a recent increase in quarantine numbers among the student population.
Students will follow an A-B schedule, with half of them attending on Monday and Thursday and the other half attending on Tuesday and Friday. Wednesday will be an all-virtual class day.
This decision was made after contact tracing was completed and the number of quarantined students shot up.
BSD Superintendent Roderick Henderson said the schedule change is only temporary.
“We’ll do that (A-B schedule) for two weeks and keep monitoring the numbers,” Henderson said. “If everyone looks good, we’ll go back on Feb. 22.”
