Mr. and Mrs. Walter Garner Watkins III of Jackson announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Polly Nicholson Watkins, to Joshua Samuel Mooney, of Brookhaven.

He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Spencer Mooney of Brookhaven.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. McNeill Bartling III and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Garner Watkins Jr., both of Madison.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Calvin Pierce of Huntsville, Alabama, the late Mr. Bruce Holmes Brady of Brookhaven, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Francis Mooney Jr. of Clarksdale.

Miss Nicholson is a 2018 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School and is a student at the University of Mississippi, pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in English. She is a member of Chi Omega  sorority.

Mr. Mooney is a 2014 graduate of home education and a 2018 graduate of the University of Mississippi, with a bachelor of science degree in integrated marketing communications.

He is self-employed as a songwriter and musician in Nashville, Tennessee.

The couple will exchange vows on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at The Chapel at Plein Air, in Taylor, Mississippi. A reception will follow on the lawn at Plein Air.
