“The Life of Christ,” a cross-denominational drive-through presentation of the life of Jesus Christ, will return to Atwood Park in Monticello on Dec. 14 for its seventh year.
“It’s a drive-through presentation of the life of Christ,” committee chairwoman Jane Boyd of Divide Methodist Protestant Church said. “It begins with the birth and goes on through the resurrection.”
The 12 participating churches collaborate to set up 10 scenes with live actors and props that follow the life of Jesus. When visitors arrive, they will be given a CD that will guide them through each scene with a scripture and information, and visitors without a CD player in their car will be given a portable one to borrow. There is no charge for the presentation. Boyd said the drive will take about 15 to 20 minutes.
Last year’s show was canceled because of rain and organizers have already postponed it from Nov. 30 for the same reason. Boyd said if it rains Dec. 14, they’ll move it inside to Monticello Baptist Church for a walk-through presentation.
