In observance of Thanksgiving, The Daily Leader office will be closed Thursday. The newspaper will publish a combined Wednesday-Thursday Thanksgiving edition on Wednesday.

Arrow Disposal Service Inc. will collect garbage as usual on Thanksgiving day, according to Brookhaven and Lincoln County Manager Charles Lungrin. Collection will run earlier and residents are asked to have their garbage out by 5:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving.

These other area offices have announced their schedules for the Thanksgiving holiday:

• Area city and county government buildings will be closed Thursday and Friday. Monticello will also have a half day Wednesday.

• Students and staff at area schools will be out through the week from Nov. 25-29.

• The Drivers License Bureau will be closed Thursday and Friday.

• The Lincoln-Lawrence-Franklin Regional Library will be closed Thursday and will reopen the following Monday, Dec. 2.

• The Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

• The United States Postal Service’s downtown and west offices will be closed Thanksgiving day.
