The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a freeze warning for the area from 4 p.m. Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Numerous hours of sub-freezing temperatures are expected from late Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Temperatures will be in the middle to upper 20s by Wednesday morning. Wind chills will be as low as 15 to 20 degrees.
Freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Strong, gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result, according to NWS.
