Aretha Barnes and Bryan Edwards announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jamie Adams of Brookhaven, to Jamaal Brown Sr., of Brookhaven.

He is the son of Claudette Brown and the late Albert Brown Sr.

The bride-elect is granddaughter of Willie Ray Quarles, the late Tobias Lanell Adams-Byrd, Clarence Edwards and the late Mary Wilbert. She is the great-granddaughter of Dorothy Jean Ball.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mary Hilliard, the late Luther Hilliard, and the late George and Christine Brown.

Miss Adams is a 2005 graduate of Brookhaven High School.

Mr. Brown is a 2005 graduate of Brookhaven High School and a graduate of Southwest Community College with a degree in nursing. He is employed as a registered nurse.

Mr. Brown has four children — Jamaal Jr., Jamarion, Jaiycee and Jaleigh.

The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Mt. Wade M.B. Church.

Friends and family are invited to attend the wedding and a reception that will follow a private dinner.
