Richard W. Sutton Sr.

Richard W. Sutton Sr. of Orange Beach, Alabama, passed away Feb. 2, 2019, in Pensacola, Florida. He was born at home on Sept. 10, 1942, in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi, “number 5” of the seven sons of the late James Harrison and Lavenia Walker Sutton.
Richard was a retired boilermaker, served in the U.S. Navy, and built his first car from lawn mower parts when he was 8.
He was preceded in death by four of his brothers, Don, Rivers, Tommy and Ronnie Sutton.
Richard is survived by his brothers, Jamie Dale Sutton and David Sutton; his wife, Rebecca Alford Sutton, of Orange Beach, Alabama; children, Richard Jr., of Brooklyn, New York; and Sheri, of Brandon, Mississippi; and stepson John Alford, of Covington, Louisiana; grandchildren, Dex and Lilou, of Brooklyn, and John Austin of Brandon; ex-wife and friend, Ann Pybass Sutton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
