Megan Garcia is just a girl from Montana following her dreams.
Garcia, 16, is the daughter of Terry and Lisa Britt. She has three siblings; Jamie, 15, Carolyn, 13, and Addy, 9.
She has lived in Brookhaven for the past 11 years. Garcia is a junior at Loyd Star Attendance Center, where she is involved in the marching band, color guard, choir and the soccer team.
Her plans for college include attending Copiah-Lincoln Community College and then transferring to the University of Southern Mississippi.
When Garcia isn’t spinning flags, singing or playing soccer, she is involved at her church. She attends the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she is involved with Sunday school and Young Womens, along with directing the music.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading and hanging out with her friends. Her favorite TV show is “Grey’s Anatomy.” Her favorite food is hamburgers and she and her mom enjoy making them.
An interesting tradition the Garcias enjoy is watching the movie “Dutch” during Thanksgiving. It was a movie Garcia’s mom enjoyed as a kid, so they started watching it every year.
Something she can’t go without is her phone. Garcia says her best quality is that she is nice, and she believes it enables her to make friends and talk to people easily.
In five years, she sees herself enrolled in college to become an occupational therapist. Her life’s biggest goal is to complete college and get a good job.
