Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Parker, of Laurel, will be on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at Big Creek Baptist Church in Soso at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Bro. Don Brown, Bro. Justin Rhodes and Bro. Tony Mullins will be officiating with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville today, Nov. 23, 2018, from 6 until 8 p.m. and resume on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at Big Creek Baptist Church in Soso from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Virgie Pauline Parker, 87, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville. She was born in Sand Hill on May 16, 1931, to Doc Dosier and Allegra Holifield Welch. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and was active in music ministry. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Rev. Milton Paul Parker; and sisters, Lorene Dykes and Ernestine Valentine.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Parker and wife Rosemary of Brookhaven, David Parker and wife Wanda of Bogue Chitto, and Steve Parker and wife Barbara of Hazlehurst; brother, Harold Welch and wife Hazel of Laurel; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers are Adrian Parker, Thomas Parker, Graham Parker, Grayson Devito, Jason Jones, Bradley Redmond, Maynor Rivera, Holden Parker and Aiden Parker. Honorary pallbearer is Lt. Col. Kristopher Lee Parker, USMC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Mrs. Parker’s name to Big Creek Baptist Church Music Ministry, 28 Big Creek Church Road, Soso, MS 39480.
