Panthers cross country teams sweep meet

The Brookhaven High School girls and boys cross country teams recently swept the team titles at the Ole Brook Invitational Meet. In the boys’ division, Cole Benoit from Pearl River Central took first place followed by Grayson Childress, Jacob Britt and Sam Arnold of Brookhaven High. Jonathan Mathis of West Lincoln came in fifth place.
Brookhaven swept the top four positions in the girls’ race with Gracie Gray claiming the top prize, followed by Miyah Miller, Bailey Pounds and Ellie Slay.
Nine varsity teams were entered in the meet. Brookhaven will next run Saturday at Choctaw Trails in Clinton during the MC High School Opener Meet.
