Louisiana State Penitentiary inmate hospitalized after fight
ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. (AP) — A Louisiana State Penitentiary inmate has been seriously hurt in a fight with another inmate.
The Advocate reports that the inmate was receiving intensive medical care after the fight early Sunday morning.
Louisiana Department of Corrections spokesman Ken Pastorick said charges are pending against the alleged attacker. He said officials are awaiting information from an investigating.
Pastorick said the injured inmate was hospitalized immediately after the fight and was being treated in the intensive care unit. No further information about the man’s condition was available Sunday afternoon.
