Graveside service for Jearlene P. Lofton, of Smithdale, will be Saturday, July 28, 2018, at noon at Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lofton, 81, died Thursday, July 26, 2018. She was born Jan. 19, 1937, to the late Marvin Hunt Pickett and Nell Pickett. She loved cooking for family, making grandchildren’s quilts, crocheting and absolutely loved flowers. She was also a member of Ramah Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lofton; sons, Stephen Lofton and Jason Lofton; parents; and in-laws, Dekalb and Jewell Lofton.

Survivors are her son, Micheal Lofton and wife, Mary; daughter, Jennie Linton and husband, Frank; sister, Becky Pickett Hughes; nine grandchildren, Steve Lofton, Dan Lofton, Shelby Lofton Rushing, Abigail Lofton, Waylan Payne, Joseph Tanner, Hannah Johnson Becker, Alicia Kennedy Smith and April Kennedy Holcomb; 10 great-grandchildren, Haley Payne, Zach Payne, Emma Payne, Alivia Becker, Elizabeth Becker, Leah Becker, Jace Lofton, Alyssa Lofton, Jed Rushing, Noah Rushing and Meredith Rushing.
