Four area teams engaged in baseball playoff fights

Enterprise-Clarke High School vs. Enterprise
The two schools that share a namesake will start their series on Friday, with the Yellow Jackets traveling to Enterprise-Clarke to start the series.
The Bulldogs have had a stellar season thus far, going 17-10 on the year, and having a perfect 7-0 record within their division.
Enterprise-Clarke dominated its first-round opponent in North Forrest, putting up 40 runs and only allowing two in two mercy-rule defeats.
The Yellow Jackets come into the series winners of five of its last seven games. Enterprise went 16-6 in the regular season and went 9-3 in the district to claim second place behind Loyd Star.
Enterprise-Clarke will have homefield advantage. The Yellow Jackets will travel to Enterprise-Clarke on Friday, with the series returning to Lincoln County on Saturday. A game three would take place Monday at Enterprise-Clarke.
Taylorsville High School vs. Loyd Star
Loyd Star had to win seven games in a row to capture the district championship this year, and they did just that.
The Hornets have won 10 of their last 11 games with their only setback coming in the last game of the regular season against Franklin County.
This weekend they’ll do battle with Taylorsville in a best-of-three series.
The Hornets enter the series with a 20-5 mark, and a 10-2 record within their district.
Taylorsville will enter the series with a 15-10 record and a 6-2 district record. The Tartars have won 15 of their last 16 contests with the only loss coming to 5A Germantown.
The series will start on Friday at Loyd Star, and head to Taylorsville on Saturday. Loyd Star would host an if-necessary game three on Monday.
Brookhaven vs. West Jones
The Panthers won a back-and-forth third game against North Pike on Monday night to advance to the second round of the playoffs against West Jones.
Brookhaven’s Tyler Mixon threw six innings of relief to set the Panthers from a pitching perspective, as nobody except him will be restricted by pitch count limits.
The Panthers enter the series with a 18-8 record and a 7-2 mark in district play. They’ve won four of their last five games.
West Jones is one of the premier programs in 5A coming into the series with a 23-2 mark and a 9-0 record within their district.
West Jones has won 18 of their last 19 contests.
Brookhaven will travel to West Jones on Friday, and they’ll play game two at Brookhaven. An if-necessary game three would take place at West Jones on Monday night.
Brookhaven Academy
The Cougars are in wait and see mode for their first-round opponent, as they received a bye by virtue of winning their district championship.
The Cougars will take on the winner of Amite School Center and Prairie View Academy starting on Tuesday night.
Amite School Center won the first game of the series 10-4 on Tuesday night, but the series will move to Prairie View Academy this weekend.
