Funeral services for J. Hugh Smith, of Brandon, are Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, from 4 until 5 p.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.

Family visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, from 3 until time of service at the funeral home. A gathering for friends and family will be at 5:30 p.m. at Bay Pointe R&GC in Brandon.

Mr. Smith, 77, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, peacefully at his residence. He was born Aug. 20, 1940, in Brookhaven, where he lived until the early 1970’s.  He and his family then moved to the Jackson area where he raised his children. He lived in Brandon the last 25 years of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Josie Dell Smith, and Hugh W. Smith.

Survivors are his sister, Alice Faye Britt and husband, Dennis; daughter, Donna Rachelle Rogers and husband, Bo; sons, Randall Hugh Smith and wife, Rochelle, Jay Robin Smith and wife, Michelle; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in the name of J. Hugh Smith to God’s Haven Ministries, 800 Raymond Road, Jackson, MS. 39204.
