Shop local Brookhaven and Lincoln County businesses this holiday sales season

In case you weren’t aware, it’s Thanksgiving week, which means one thing first and foremost for many people — lowest prices of the year on stuff they want for Christmas.
We hope that as you spend your hard-earned dollars this year for Christmas presents and the like that you support Brookhaven and Lincoln County businesses, reinvesting in our local area with your business. A thriving local economy benefits us all.
Our special Thanksgiving Day edition of the newspaper will be published this afternoon. Its pages are full of ideas and sales that will likely give you lots of ideas on how to spend locally instead of elsewhere.
We’ve also asked several local people to share a little bit about their cherished Thanksgiving rituals. One person shared that his family’s tradition is Black Friday shopping.
Be safe and smart about keeping a good grip on your purse, not leaving valuables in your vehicle (or at least putting them out of sight), locking your vehicle as you shop and keeping an eye on children — yours and others.
Take note of the closings across the area and be especially aware of each other on the streets as you hit all the sales and restaurants around.
We hope you’ll have a wonderful and safe time visiting with family and friends, consuming holiday goodies and racking up those deals. Enjoy and be thankful.
And remember to shop Brookhaven and Lincoln County.
