Deborah Griffin announces the engagement and upcoming marriage of her daughter, Jaclyn Ashley Griffin of Brookhaven, to Harold Randy Laird Jr. of Bogue Chitto.

He is the son of Harold Randy Laird Sr. and Mary Alice Laird. She is also the daughter of the late Jackie Griffin.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Edgar “Buck” James and Billie Joy James, and the late Paul W. Griffin Sr. and Eunice E. Griffin.

Miss Griffin is a 2003 graduate of West Lincoln Attendance Center and a 2007 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in history. She is employed as a substitute teacher.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Sarah Alice Pearce, the late James Pearce, and the late Harold and Audrey Laird.

Mr. Laird is a 1994 graduate of West Lincoln Attendance Center, a 1999 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in chemistry, and a 2005 graduate of William Carey College with a master’s degree in education. He is employed as a math and science teacher and boys basketball coach at Salem Attendance Center.

The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Easthaven Baptist Church.
