PASCAGOULA (AP) — Authorities have released the identity of a man who they say was fatally shot while trying to force his way into a home.
The Sun Herald reports Pascagoula police Capt. Shannon Massey says 34-year-old Jerry Lee Lyons Jr. was shot multiple times Monday morning.
Police and fire units responded to a complaint of shots fired and found the wounded man on the floor. Lyons was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Lyons attempted to force his way inside the home during a domestic-related incident. Investigators believe they have identified the shooter after questioning several people who were at the residence during the shooting.
