A Louisiana man was killed in a two vehicle crash early Thursday on I-55 near the Bogue Chitto exit.
Isaac A. Graham, 45, of Monroe, was killed in the crash, said Cpl. Brandon Fortenberry with the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris.
James C. Chandler, 62, of Amite, Louisiana, was driving a 2008 Peterbilt tractor trailer southbound on I-55 in the right lane when the front of Graham’s 2016 Nissan Altima collided with the rear of the truck’s trailer at mile marker 28. The collision occurred shortly after midnight, Fortenberry said.
Graham’s car veered off the east side of I-55 and struck a guard rail. The vehicle came to rest facing north in the median of I-55, he said.
Chandler continued southbound and pulled over and called authorities. He was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
