Luke 1:30-33 speaks to God people about Jesus’ birth, and it reads: “And the angel said unto Mary, fear not, Mary: for thou hath found favor with God. And behold, thou shall conceive in thy womb, and bring fourth a son, and shall call his name Jesus. He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest. And the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David.”

Eva Harris Alumni are continuing to prepare for their upcoming school reunion that will be held July 14-16 in Brookhaven. The preparation for this event and for any other event takes lots of work and finances. There will be another fundraiser held in February for Valentine’s Day.

The committee met recently to stuff letters and mailed them out to former students, faculty and staff members. If you have not received yours within a week after reading this article, please notify one of the committee members. If you have received your letter and a family member or a schoolmate has not received one please notify a committee member so that he or she can send a letter to that person. President Curtis Tyner, vice-presidents Marian B. James and Mozel Jackson, committee members and loyal supporters are excited about this upcoming reunion, and they are encouraging your input and participation. The next meeting will be Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. at the public library.

There are many people who has lost loved ones or special friends this year and are still in bereavement at this time. Special love and sympathy is extended to the family of J. D. Dixon of the Loyd Star community.

Special prayers are extended to all who are sick and shut-in at this time. May God touch you with his powers of strength, of peace, of comfort, of mercy and of love so that you will get well and regain your strength to do your everyday tasks and chores.

I will leave you with this thought for today, “be strong, be happy, be joyful for this blessed holiday season, be prayerful and be careful as you go to and from different places.
