Bogue Chitto boys open play tonight

The Bogue Chitto Bobcats face the North Pike Jaguars tonight for the first game of the season for both teams.
With 11 sophomores, six freshmen and only one returning senior, head coach Mark Pitts is working with a very young team.
“Our focus is on growth and maturity,” said Pitts. “We want to gain experience as we go, improving all the time.”
The Bobcats will be looking for leadership, in part, to returning starting sophomores Malik Richardson and Darius Porter. Pitts said he also has some up-and-coming guards in Brandon Lewis and Jermaine Black.
“Our greatest asset is our depth,” Pitts said. “We can go 10 or 12 deep relatively easy without falling off too much. Depth and execution – that’s going to be key for us this season.”
Tip off is at 6 p.m. at Bogue Chitto.
The Bobcats advanced to the playoffs last season, but fell to Sacred Heart in the opening round. They finished the season with a 4-26 record overall.
